Mr Dieter Torfs (°1987, Tongeren) obtained his Master’s degree in Law in 2011 at the Catholic University of Leuven where he specialised in Civil Law and Commercial and Economic Law. He wrote his master’s thesis on parentage following medically assisted reproduction.
Following up on his keen interest in health care in the broad sense, he obtained an additional Master's degree in health care organisation and policy in 2012. He also obtained this degree at the Catholic University of Leuven with a master’s thesis on hospital accreditation.
After graduation, he started his career with the Leuven bar association at an office specialising in medical and health law.
He then moved to the Bar of Hasselt (now the Limburg Bar) where he could also specialise in liability law and administrative law.
During this period, he successfully completed the continuing education course on Human Injury Assessment at the Catholic University of Leuven.
As of 2016, Mr Dieter Torfs is also an instructor at Syntra Limburg where he teaches the administrative clerk course for the legal professions.
In March of 2020, Mr Dieter Torfs joined the Adlex Advocaten law firm where he focuses on medical law and construction law.
